Christmas Wedding Ideas

One of my favorite Christmas wedding ideas is to create a winter wonderland.

Many people who love Christmas have decided to have their wedding around the Christmas holidays.

I have seen a few weddings where red and green or red and gold with a Christmas tree centered theme has been used, but I think that an ice blue and winter white wedding color combination with clear/ice/glass accents is absolutely beautiful and simple to do.

The right props and decor can really set the look for your winter wedding reception.

Start your wedding reception of with a bang by getting a Snowflake Machine and blow snow onto the dance floor while you and your new spouse enjoy your first dance. Falling snow

  • fits the winter wonderland theme very well

  • is not something you see often at a wedding, so it will be a pleasant surprise for your guests

and enjoying your first dance surrounded by a flurry of snowflakes will be a beautiful moment that you will never forget.

Add Mood Lighting

Up lighting is a very beautiful and dramatic effect for any event. Blue is a very soft and relaxing up light color as opposed to red or green which could seem quite alarming for your guests.

You could also place white-lighted trees around the room to add a nice romantic glow to your dimly lit banquet space.

More Christmas Wedding Ideas

An ice sculpture is a nice touch to add to your reception.

If you are working with a limited budget you could buy an ice sculpture mold and create an ice sculpture yourself.

One of the most economical ideas is to use one mold to create small ice sculptures to place on each table as the centerpiece.

If you have more money to spend you can choose to place floral arrangements adorned with hanging crystals as your centerpieces.

As a final touch you can get some "real snow" from Shindgz to throw on the guest tables or anywhere else that you think would be appropriate.

If you are looking for a favor idea other than the common wrapped candies you could
  1. serve hot cocoa to your guests in personalized travel mugs

  2. have a friend take photos of each guest with the bride and groom.

  3. They would then
    • upload the photos to a laptop (you would need a laptop, printer and printer paper at the reception)

    • print and cut out wallet sized photos of each individual guest with the newlywed couple

    • place the photo into a snow globe so that each guest gets to take home a super personalized memory favor.

Just think; winter, snow, ice, crystal, glass and let your imagination go wild and throw the most beautiful winter wedding reception possible.
