Guest Count for a Destination Wedding

by BECKY FERCH
(HAMLET, IN USA)

IS IT ACCEPTABLE TO SEND AN ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT/QUESTIONNAIRE REGARDING THE WEDDING-RECEPTION IN ORDER TO GET AN IDEA IF YOUR GUEST WOULD BE WILLING/ABLE TO SPEND THE $ FOR AN OVERNIGHT STAY AND TRAVEL EXPENSES PRIOR TO PLANNING THE RECEPTION.

THE REASON FOR THIS WOULD BE TO GET AN GOOD IDEA OF HOW MANEY GUESTS TO PLAN FOR? IF NOT, HOW DO YOU PLAN A DESTINATION WEDDING AND RECEPTION NOT KNOWING IF IT WOULD BE FOR THIRTY GUESTS OR ONE HUNDRED GUESTS?

I don't see why you couldn't do something like that. You could send out a professionally printed "Save the Date" with all of the details (Location, date, cost of accommodations, etc.) with a stamped envelope and a portion to send back with a response of if they would like to attend.
