Ipod or dj?

(Wisconsin)

My fiance and I have never seen a wedding dj we liked. The horrible radio voice and the pushy-ness to get people to dance is a major turn off for us. We would like to cut costs and be able to pick every song that will be played during the reception. This is why we would like to use an ipod. We would still need to rent equipment and have a friend or family member play dj, luckily we already have someone who is very willing. I was just wondering if anyone has ever had success doing this. I know we wouldn't be the first couple to try this. But will it be more stressful this way?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

S & J

It's your decision if you would like to have a friend to be in charge of pre-programmed music. You just need to make sure that you choose someone who you can rely on that is willing to give up having fun at your wedding reception to dedicate their time to making sure that music plays smoothly and continuously during your reception.
