Lounge cocktail reception

by anna
(lerma, mexico)

Last year I had to organize a reception for 120 guests in a month (bride was far along). Instead of a sit-down meal, I placed small bar tables with stools (all white) and lounge sets under three canopies (two square, one rectangle) in the bride´s home side and back yard.

They have several trees and a fountain, so we could not cover the entire area, but rain was quite probable, and it actually worked nicely. It was a splendid affair, even though there were trays being passed (plenty, obviously).

What really made the reception look elegant was the champagne that was served to the guests on arrival (not near the end), there was a huge and very beautiful chiller on top of the bar with several bottles, and iris and delphinium oriental style arrangements on every table and corner that would allow.
