Get Save the Date Cards

You can receive beautiful save the date cards that are professionally printed with your personal message.

You should consider sending out save the date cards to your guests 5 - 6 months before your wedding date.

Of course your guests will receive an invitation but those go out about six weeks before your wedding.

It is wise to let your guests know the date of your wedding far enough in advance so that they don't make any other plans on your special day.

I personally did not send out save the dates for my wedding.

We had quite a few people that could not attend because they had already made plans.

I got married in late June and had some friends that made plans to go on vacation.

Even if you are not having a wedding in the summer or near any holidays you'll still want to make sure that your family and friends have plenty of advance notice about your wedding date.

Getting Save the Dates

There are a number of ways to go about getting save the date cards even if you are working with a limited budget.

If you have a printer at home then you can buy some card stock from Staples, Office Depot or Office Max and print them out yourself.

Your only cost would be for the ink, card stock and stamps. If you are patient enough to produce cards that are presentable to send out to your guests then this can be a real cost saver.

If you are looking for professional quality save the dates for a reasonable price then Vistaprint could be a good option for you.

Even though they are known for business stationery they happen to also have full color postcards with a section that has around 20 wedding themed postcards that would make great save the dates.

I think postcards are a great idea because mailing a postcard is a lot cheaper than the price for regular first class postage.

Another great idea would be to have save the date magnets. These are a great idea because they can be put on the refrigerators of your guests that they have a constant reminder of your upcoming wedding.

You should check out that magnets that are available at Vistaprint (you can even put your engagement photo on them). Oh . . . and don't forget to publish your free wedding announcement!
