Get Save the Date Cards

You can receive beautiful save the date cards that are professionally printed with your personal message.

You should consider sending out save the date cards to your guests 5 - 6 months before your wedding date.

Of course your guests will receive an invitation but those go out about six weeks before your wedding.

It is wise to let your guests know the date of your wedding far enough in advance so that they don't make any other plans on your special day.

I personally did not send out save the dates for my wedding.

We had quite a few people that could not attend because they had already made plans.

I got married in late June and had some friends that made plans to go on vacation.

Even if you are not having a wedding in the summer or near any holidays you'll still want to make sure that your family and friends have plenty of advance notice about your wedding date.

I found a way that you can get inexpensive save the date cards if you are working with a limited budget.

If you click on the image to the left you'll be taken to a website that specializes in business stationary.

But . . . they happen to also have full color postcards with a section that has around 20 wedding themed postcards that would make great save the dates.

I think postcards are a great idea because mailing a postcard is a lot cheaper than the price for regular first class postage.

When you click on the image to the left
  • Look for the Marketing Materials section on the left side of the website

  • Go to the Postcards section

  • Click on Use a design template under step 2 in the middle of the page

  • The wedding templates have their own section on the left side of the screen

Another great idea would be to have save the date magnets. These are a great idea because they can be put on the refridgerators of your guests that they have a constant reminder of your upcoming wedding. You can save 50% Off All Magnets - All Sizes (you can even put your engagement photo on them. Oh . . . and don't forget to publish your free wedding announcement!

Wording your Save the Date Cards

There isn't a lot that needs to go on the cards just
  • The names of the bride and groom

  • The wedding date

  • A request for your guests to save the date

For example:
