Every year on the anniversary of my mother's death, the family goes camping at the ocean (she was scattered at sea). Every year we bring red roses for each family member to throw into the ocean.
In 1994 I met my second husband. When he and his children started camping with us, it only seemed natural that when the time came to marry we would do it while camping. All 85 guests camped for 3-5 days with the wedding in the evening (on a cliff over looking the ocean).
Part of the ceremony involved the family members throwing my bouquet of two dozen red roses into the ocean. Every one was asked to bring something for the wedding feast for that evening's camping bash...very low cost, no one had to run out and buy a new outfit (they wore camping clothes). It was loads of fun!!
