Wow ! College Campus

by Laura Collins
(Montgomery, Alabama)

I am a local event planner who recently coordinated a wedding in Montgomery, Alabama. I had two months to plan a July 4th wedding for a couple who were living in California. They saw my website and gave me a call.

After days of hearing, "No, we are not open on the holiday." or "Sorry, we are booked." I stumbled upon Huntingdon College Dining Hall. It was large enough to accomodate 500 people. The cost of the rental-a mere $250.

We planned for 150 guest. So we were able to close off half of the room so that it would not swallow the guest. The dining staff worked well with us. We came up with a great buffet menu at a cost of $12.66 per person. This included delicious shrimp and minature crab cakes.

The bride and groom were delighted. They spent $1,900 on the reception food plus the rental of the building. So consider colleges when looking for a venue. The college there also had a beautiful chapel that was available.
